YOUR GUIDE TO MAKING YOUR HOME SMELL AMAZING!
How to make each room in your home feel cozy and welcoming.
One of the reasons we love candles and wax melts is they can make your home smell amazing. One of the things I take pride in is having an amazing smelling home. Not only is it an extension of personal interior design, but it also plays a significant role in creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere for ourselves and our guests. With the holiday season coming up, visits from friends and family are also in store.
Here are our five tips to keeping each room cozy for company:
THE LIVING ROOM:
Layering scent gives a room depth, and it's essential to consider the elements in every room, like furnishings and the smell they hold to build off that. For fall, we like to add classic seasonal scents: Pumpkin, Cinnamon, and Apple think seasonal, baking spices, and woodsy scents. Wax warmers are great for placing them around the home and you can layer additional scents using candles. We recommend scents like Irish Countryside or European Fir for woodsy scents.
THE DINING ROOM:
The dining room: a space that more often than not serves a variety of different purposes. We suggest incorporating all-around fragrance for the times your dining space serves other purposes besides sharing a meal (for example homework and craft station, etc.). We recommend our seasonal edition Hazelnut Coffee for its warmth and cozy scent.
THE KITCHEN:
Adding fragrance to your kitchen doesn't have to be overwhelming. I like to incorporate fruity and baking scents. What’s even better is people will think you have been baking all day! We recommend scents like our German Apple Strudel, Pumpkin Latte, and Cinnamon.
BEDROOMS OR GUEST ROOMS:
Scenting a bedroom depends on which mood and atmosphere you're trying to set for yourself and any potential guests visiting for the holidays. Room and linen sprays are fantastic for keeping the sheets fresh; add a reed diffuser and wax warmers for layering in the scent without the worry of an open flame of a candle.
THE BATHROOM:
The bathroom can serve both function and relaxation, and it's key to keep in mind what type of environment you are trying to create. Citrus, fruit, floral, and strong wood scents smell like a breath of fresh air. Add reed diffusers for that base layer (and a bit of decor) with wax melts for the scent throw and their relaxing glow. Room sprays are a must to keep the good smells (and vibes) going and for any damage control. Finally, keep the scent layering going with an amazing smelling hand soap, leaving a light, lingering scent on the skin.
TO KEEP A GREAT SMELLING HOME ALL-AROUND:
Creating that unique first impression in your home is quick and easy. Start with a base, like reed diffusers, then layer candles and wax melts right before company arrives ( even the last minute hey we are coming to visit call) and finally, room and linen spray for a quick refresh and keep linens smelling great.
